Obituary of Margaret Coleman

Margaret C. Coleman, age 90, a resident of New Canaan for over 50 years died Friday January 23, 2009 in Norwalk Hospital. Born April 13, 1918 in County Monaghan, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Ellen McMahon Connolly Margaret was predeceased by her husband Andrew Coleman. Mrs. Coleman worked in various capacities for the Noble family in New Canaan for many years. She was a member of the St. Aloysius Choir and was a very considerate, prayerful and loyal friend, as well as a devoted parishioner of St. Aloysius Church in New Canaan. Mrs. Coleman is survived by her sister Teresa Mc Kenna of Monaghan, Ireland, nieces Margaret Holohan of Ireland, Margaret Flynn, Noreen O'Donnell, Geraldine Galbraith, Bernadette Dixon, Wenda and Mary Lou Van Prooyen, nephews Michael Ross, Michael and Andrew Mc Kenna, cousins, Father Michael Palmer of Wilton, Dick Palmer of Stamford, William Palmer III of Tierra Verde, FL, Matthew Connolly of Norwalk, Mrs. Pricilla Thifault of Martha’s Vineyard and Mrs. Diana Yeakel of Guilford, Grand-niece Noreen Mc Kenna, and Grand-nephew Michael Holohan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday January 27, 2009 at 11:00am in St. Aloysius Church, Cherry Street, New Canaan with the Reverend Michael Palmer, Margaret’s cousin, officiating. Entombment will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan on Tuesday morning before the Mass from 9:30 to 10:30. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Aloysius Church, Cherry Street, New Canaan, CT 06840.
