I had the distinct pleasure of coaching with Fred in basketball. He was tough but fair, demanding but caring, and helped many a young boy in New Canaan grow up to be a man.

Mr. Trumpler was not only a great coach, but a great man. Still remember the 2-2-1 back into a man to man and the wheel. He taught not only the game of basketball, but life lessons as well. He will be missed.

In my eyes, the graduates of Fort Schuyler have a special bond. It's not an ivy league school or at the top of the list of colleges and universities in the U.S., but the graduates offer a blend of professionalism, character and honesty that I believe is unmatched anywhere. Fred epitomized those values and we will miss him.
