Obituary of Mary Kay Sachs

Mary Kay Sachs, 86, of Wilton, formerly of New Canaan and Stamford, died Friday, October 21, 2011 at Norwalk Hospital. A wise and loving wife and mother, she was an advocate for the poor, especially children, and a dedicated supporter of many different Jesuit schools and ministries, both in the United States and abroad. She had a deep love of music and enjoyed sculpting and painting. She filled our lives with love and made our home a place where so many people were welcomed and felt that love. Such love never ends, for ultimately it comes from God. Born April 29, 1925, in Powhatan, OH, she was the daughter of the late Henry & Clara Carson Sims. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, John P. Sachs of Wilton; her two sons, Rev. John R. Sachs, S.J. of Boston, MA and Christopher H. Sachs of New Canaan; her two daughters, Susan F. Sachs of San Francisco, CA, Kathryn Sachs Conway; and her five grandchildren, Matthew, Timothy, Jenna, Claire, and Colette. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at St. Aloysius Church, New Canaan at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
