I have wonderful childhood memories of my Grandma Jane. Some things are silly like I remember loving her toaster oven, her tv remote control, her "Waterpick" tooth cleaner... for a child, this was pretty neat stuff! :) As I got older, I saw her in other ways -- a great grandmother to my children, and a role model for me since she has always been a strong woman with a fabulous sense of humor, and a great capacity to genuninely love many people in life. It inspires me. The kids and I are working on the flower pot for you, Jane! :) Marty, my thoughts continue to be with you. You were and still are your mother's angel for all you did for her.

I used to visit the New Canaan inn and play cards with Mrs Killebrew. She had a wonderful personality and had taught me much. I truly appreciate being able to have known her.

I am one of the founding members of SLOBS (Service League of Boys). Over the past years, a group of boys has played poker at the New Canaan Inn, myself included. The first night this tradition was started, I was the first boy into the Inn. I was carrying the poker chips that we used to bet with. The first woman down to the table was Mrs. Killebrew. I stood up to shake her hand and the first thing she said to me was "Call me killer!" I laughed, and nodded, not expecting such spunk or attitude out of an older woman. She surprised me then, and surprised me further with her poker playing. She claimed to be a novice, but won nearly every hand we played that night. I remember because she and her friends would kid with each other about hustling the rest of the table. I remember Mrs. Killebrew as the woman with the most personality; someone I looked forward to seeing at these weekly meetings.

Marty: I pray you feel great contentment and satisfaction in realizing there can be no regrets for you having shown the dedication, attention, fortitude, care and love that you did for your mother over the last several years. Your mom brought you into this world and you were there for her through the end. Jane: Thank you for loving my father and helping me to believe he loved me.
