I just read about your mother's passing in the New Canaan paper today. I have fond memories of your Mom. I no longer live in New Canaan or I would have been there for the mass on the 29th. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Vividly I still can recall Mme's twinkling eyes, friendly smile & enthusiasm for her students. Remarkably just today, 35 years since taking French at LHT (wow, yes!) my high school son asked how to say "as much as" & like a reflex I spouted "autant que", shocking me! A fitting tribute that made me smile with gratitude & warm remembrance.

Madame Barbarite was my French teacher at Low-Heywood school from 1973-1976. Her cheerful disposition and sweet smile made learning French fun and I can still hear the stories she told us about life in Belgium. Every Friday afternoon, she would dismiss us with an "Au revoir, mes enfants". Au Revoir, Madame. We will miss you.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Germaine Barbarite. Madame Barbarite was my French teacher for 2 years when I was at LHT and gave me a ride to school every day my freshman or sophmore year. She was one of the sweetest woman and greatest teachers I had ever met. She will be missed. I pray that you can find peace in knowing that she touched so many lives especially mine. Martha McKee
