I was so sorry to hear of Amy's passing. We were friends in early grade school and I have fond memories of our playing together at her home when we very small children. Even after many years I remember how kind and sweet she was. She was a good friend and I have thought of her over the years and always wished her well. I send my deepest condolences to her family and just want them to know of yet another person Amy had a positive impact on and never forgot what a wonderful person she was. She will be missed.

There is a hole in this world that is left by Amy's unfilled destiny, and we each feel a part of that loss. My heart goes out to her family, loved ones and students.

I was one of her AP art students and I saw Ms. Lange as more than a teacher, I saw her as a friend. But most importantly I saw her as a mother. I miss her so much. She taught me so many things about photography and I just want to make her so proud.

Amy was my teacher for High School Art at The Memphis College of Art. She was one of my favorite teachers here. When I wound up teaching High School this August she came out to my school and helped me set up my class room, gave me tons of first week tips and work sheets. And of course told me it was going to be hard. I really miss her spirit, her generosity and her dedication to teaching and her students.

I first met Amy in the spring of 1994 when we were both graduate students in the M.A.T. program at the University of Memphis. We Neither of us knew anyone and we gravitated to one another and paired up as partners for our introduction to technology course. I remember those days as being full of laughter as learned Apple ClarisWorks in the Mac Lab. Our friendship rekindled when I joined the faculty of MCHS in 2009. Amy was a wonderful teacher and her classroom was a place of love and joy. She is deeply missed.

I met Amy when she was a new teacher at Germantown High School. She had lots of question, I had some answers. We became friends. I respected her as an artist and as a teacher. She learned and grew and soon soared as a teacher and an inspiration to her students. There is a saying: “When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.” She was my friend and her memory is now my treasure.

Amy was my student in Middle School art and I remember her so well. Her intelligence and talent shone early and continued to grow during her time here. She was sweet, kind, and imaginative. She painted a large and wonderful mural on one of our walls in the high school, which remained for many years. It was hard when she left for Stamford High, but for her it was the right move. The loss of someone so special and talented is very hard. My thoughts are with her family.

Ken & Betsy,
I just wanted to offer my sincere condolences on the tragic loss of your daughter, Amy. Truly this must be a sad time for both of you.
I would encourage you to remember the good times and remember that Amy obviously touched many lives in her chosen profession as an educator. There is nothing more noble than being a teacher and, from her obituary, she was obviously a very good one.
Please know that I will keep you in our prayers. God bless the both of you.
Brent
