Marc Anthony LaMonte, 49, a resident of Wilton, CT for over 15 years, died suddenly while on a business flight in Europe on the morning of October 14th. Born in Brooklyn, New York on December 30, 1963, he was the son of Rachel Guido LaMonte of New York City and the late Armand LaMonte. Marc was the husband of Cara Nicita LaMonte. In addition to his wife and his mother, Marc is survived by three sons, Matthew, Stefan, and Andrew all of Wilton, CT and a sister, Leona LaMonte of Greenwich, CT Marc was a widely respected member of the international shipping industry for twenty seven years. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Heidmar Inc. from April 2012. Prior to becoming CEO, Marc had been the Managing Director of Heidmar’s VLCC tanker pool, Seawolf Tankers. Before joining Heidmar, Marc spent 16 years at Overseas Shipping Group in various positions, including vice president of OSG’s LNG tanker business. He was an associate member of the Association of Ship Brokers and Agents (USA), Inc. Marc was an avid lover of life, music, food, wine, cigars, and most importantly his family. He is known among his close friends as a passionate and frustrated golfer. All who know him well remember his warm smile, good natured humor, and down to earth personality. The family will receive all whose lives were touched by Marc on Wednesday, October 23rd and Thursday, October 24th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St., New Canaan, CT 06840. A Mass will be held on Friday October 25th at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 229 Danbury Road, Wilton, CT 06897. Interment will be private.
