Susan Souders Obrecht, 61, of Greenwich, CT passed away on November 13, 2016 at home with her loving family by her side. Susan was born on September 30, 1955 in Minneapolis, MN to William and Barbara Huskey Souders. Susan graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University and worked for years in the Media and Publishing field. While living in Baltimore, Maryland she owned a newspaper group and later purchased the regional magazine Mid-Atlantic Country Magazine and the city publication “Baltimore Magazine”. Susan moved to New York in the mid 1990's and worked for years as a media consultant. Susan loved spending time with family and friends. She was passionate about fashion, politics and women's rights. She was a vibrant and caring soul. Susan is survived in life by her parents William and Barbara Souders, of Darien, CT and by her sister Sally Souders Firestein, brother-in-law David, and their children, Hayes, Guss, Sophia and Dillon of Pound Ridge, NY. Susan was pre-deceased by her brother Scott Souders. A Memorial Service honoring Susan's life will be held at The Congregational Church of New Canaan, 23 Park Street, New Canaan, CT on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 am. In Lieu of flowers, contributions in Susan's memory can be made to The Greenwich Hospital Foundation for the benefit of the Bendheim Cancer Center.
