I am so sorry to learn of Susan's passing. We talked often in the past year and worried when I didn't hear from her. I will miss our special friendship. My thoughts to her family.

There are no words to express my deep sorrow in the face of Susan's passing. To Sally, the Souders and Firestein families, and all those Susan touched so deeply in her life I offer my heartfelt condolences. To those who knew Susan she was a bright, beautiful star who brought many people from all walks of life into her orbit with the gravity of her unceasing vitality. To those who knew her well she was altogether more human, more earthbound, and more beautiful in her everyday caring for her family and friends. I was blessed to know Susan for several years. I knew her in triumph and adversity, in joy and in heartbreak. On this day of remembrance there are a thousand stories I could share, a million moments and words I might recall of the remarkable woman I knew, to add a perhaps unique piece of the puzzle we create together to make sense of this great loss and celebrate an extraordinary life cut short. But of all these stories and moments and words there is ultimately only one thing I can say today to honor Susan in the way she most deserved: she was loved.

After Susan moved into indian Harbor House there wasn't a day that went by that I didn't see or talk with her. She used to like to sit down by the water, and we always saw her walking down Steamboat Road or Greenwich Avenue. She loved to talk about clothes and fashion, and was very interested in politics as well. She was full of life, a bright spark of light in the building, and she will be missed. Our deepest condolences go out to her parents and to her sister Sally. She loved her family very much.

I will always think of this gorgeous woman as an 18-year old freshman who pledged Theta with me. Susie could have lived her life as just a beauty, but she pushed hard to be more. She achieved her goal.

To Susan's friends and Family, please accept my heartfelt sympathy. Susan and I were partners in several media deals and we were friends too..several thought of us as the odd couple..but we had a shared passion for the industry. There was never a time when after a meeting or dinner we didn't end up laughing our heads off over shared stories. Oh what times Susan, my dear friend... and all those crazy Christmas gifts. Bless you and your family.. with fondness and fun memories...Jim

Stunned to hear of Susan's passing. I worked under her at Times Publishing Group in the 80's where she was both a mentor and friend. Although we lost touch in the past decade I frequently thought about her. I shall remember her fondly and offer her family my sincerest sympathy.

My heart is broken at the loss of Susie! As her OWU roommate senior year and fellow Theta - I loved her spark and joie de vie! My thoughts and prayers to Sally and Mr. and Mrs. Souders.
