It was a lucky day for the McConnells when the Farmakis family moved in next door on Bickford Lane. Our new neighbors quickly became family, and we shared many happy times together. Uncle Jack was an amazing man and he and my dad kept us laughing, playing and thinking as we shared holiday dinners, picnics in their back yard, or ours, and big neighborhood get togethers. Uncle Jack was unfailingly kind, and always willing to listen to whatever was happening in our lives. My deepest sympathy goes out to John, Debbie, Bill and their kids. It was great to see you all at the beautiful service you held for your wonderful "Pops."

I live a better life because of my Uncle Jack. I remember fondly the many holiday meals and celebrations together, the trivia, the stories, the jokes, the laughter. I never faced a more formidable foe in Backgammon nor felt more accomplished when avoiding the dreaded "horns" curse when needing that one role for the win. Nothing was more fun than a summer night up at Sunapee, playing PIT after a night of grilling outside and eating two too many smores.
I salute you Uncle Jack.
Thank you, Aunt Betsy, John, Debbie, and Billy for being my extended family and providing me with such fantastic memories and values.
With Love,
Pete

Of the thousands of people in agriculture that Ive ever met, Jack was probably the classiest guy of all. What a standard of expectation in performance, behavior and expectation he established. Godspeed.

Jack and Betsy were great friends from our years in New Canaan. As a member of the Exchage Club of New Canaan, Jack was our Santa Claus during the Christmas fund raisers riding "Old Faithful" with Phil Duval to Christmas Village at Kiwanis Park. Jack never had an unkind word about anyone. Just a fine man who will be sorely missed. Gale and Les Gilbert

John, Debbie, Bill and family members. I know how much your father meant to all of you. It is not easy to have a family member go to heaven. But remember he loved you all with all his heart and each of you will see him in the future when your time is done here on earth. Prayers to all and always our love. Joan &Ed

Im profoundly saddened to learn of Jacks passing and offer my deepest sympathies to John, Debbie, Billy, and the extended family and friends. A part of Uncle Jack lives on in me and Im so glad to still have him present in my journey. Jack was one-of-a-kind and a gift to this world. My life is better for having Jack Farmakis in it. RIP and save me a seat at the next swordfish cookout where quite a cast is assembling.

I want to extend my condolences to the entire family. I did not know Jack, but I knew well his cousin, John A. Farmakis, and through him met Jacks son, John, Jr. So I had a warm interest in the whole family, and I feel sadness now, that within less than a month, both are gone. Rest in Peace!

Jane and I pray for you in this time of grief at the loss of Jack. He was such a memorable and wonderful influence to those of us who knew him professionally. He had a great wit and insightful smile that we saw as his friends. He lived a good life and will be remembered as a pioneer of our industry of agricultural communications.

So sorry to hear of Jacks passing. He was so nice to talk to at the NAFB conventions and was always an open ear to any questions I had regarding the broadcasting profession in my early years in NAFB.

My deepest sympathies to the family. He was a great guy and I had the good fortune to dine with him when he took the Ag Alert advertising crew to lunch many years ago.
