Obituary of Theresa S. Pinder
Theresa Socci Pinder, 89, a lifelong resident of New Canaan entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 26, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. One of nine siblings, Theresa, also known as Tessie, lived in New Canaan her entire life, starting with being born in a house on Strawberry Hill. Both her Mother and Father came from Sette Frati, Italy, so an Italian upbringing is what she knew and instilled in her children. At the age of 22 she met her husband Ken, fell in love, and they married in 1955 raising three children here in New Canaan. A family woman and caregiver to the core, she went on to care for a number of local families throughout her life, many of whom still came to see her on holidays, or even on college breaks, all the years later. A nod to just how deeply she impacted their lives.
Theresa is survived by her son, Kenneth Pinder of New Canaan; her daughter Charlene Petrucci of New Canaan; 3 grandchildren, Kristen Seftner (Scott) of Cary, NC, Theresa Petrucci (her name’s sake) of New Canaan, CT, Ralph Jay Jordan of Norwalk, CT and a great-grandson, Devyn Jordan. She is survived by her 3 sisters, Ann Calitri, Marie DiCostanzo, and Joan Legenzowski, and one brother, Philip Socci. She is pre-deceased by her beloved daughter, Carlita Jordan and her husband, Ken Pinder.
The family will receive visitors at Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan, on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, from 4pm – 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Theresa’s life will be held Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 11am at St. Aloysius Church, New Canaan. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in Theresa’s memory can be made to Waveny Care Center.
