Sweet Grace was, and had, such a beautiful soul. I met her late in life while walking by and striking up a conversation about her front garden and her eyes lit up so brightly. We became friends and I tried to stop by as much as I could. She loved to reminisce about her youth and the early days of New Canaan, before Pine Street was even there, the boys, men, and her brothers who served their country, and her family, which she missed so very much, in particular her mother. She was grateful for her work, from the Perkins Family to the oil company where she worked for so long. And we shared many discussions about Our Lord, the Blessed Mother, and the challenging ways of the world today. She was so generous to the poor and less unfortunate.
I think of you all the time, sweet Grace, and I can’t wait to see you again, with your sometimes wonderfully mischievous cute little smile.
Bless your sweet heart - you were already an angel on earth. Miss you & love you.
