Two of my favorite pictures of Dad. One in Switzerland with Mom, the love of his life. They traveled the globe together, inspired by different cultures but of course as a geologist the rock formations, glaciers, and canyons fascinated him too.
The second photo is in Toronto in front of a sculpture by Henry Moore, one of his favorite sculptors.
Dad we were lucky to share your life with you, learn from you, laugh with you and argue with you. Thanks for buying me my first car at Karl Chevrolet—a huge ugly green Caprice because you wanted “a big engine in front to protect me”. Thanks for bringing us camping and insisting we all pile into the car to listen to the broadcast as Apollo 11 was landing. Thanks for enrolling me in classes at Silvermine because you could see I loved to draw. We will think of you every day Dad. We love you.
