In honor of my very dear friend David. I know he would approve as he was a great supporter of Land Trust and other conservation projects.

Peanuts...ice cream...cold beer...train sets...Pequot Indian Guides..Okemo...Utah..Harbour Island...Peconic...the U.S. Open....are only a few of the things that gave David his enormous smile.
But behind that smile was a huge heart that he gave freely to friends old and new. Our family was lucky to have known David 42 years. Whether building a tree house in Peconic, teaching my very young sons how to ski, or holding my hand when I had my own loss....David was always a part of our family.
More than anything I wish I had been able to see David one more time. Even if he didn't recognize me I know he would say, "You look GREAT. Have you lost weight?"
We'll all miss you David xxxx Kitty

David was always the life of the party on the safaris that I arranged with him and Betty as part of our group. I think even the lions smiled and the elephants chuckled when he was around. What a pleasant personality who lit up not only the room back home but the wild side of Africa. We did, however, make sure that he was protected when he went on nature walks with us.

David has been my best friend for almost 60 years; from the days we shared a desk at 260 Madison Avenue on to his larger endeavors.. He is the God Father of one of our sons, a long time mentor and friend to our other, and a delightful and caring companion to our daughter. It has been a long struggle but his vivacious and sunny disposition along with his boundless energy and enthusiasm cannot be replaced and will be long remembered by our family. Yes he cheated at tennis but we forgive him.

David played important roles in my life for many years - as a boss, a friend, a teacher, a challenger, even a confidante. He set a high bar, not just for his employees, but for himself. When my dad died, he left an important trade show we were attending in San Francisco to accompany me back home to NY., a gesture I will never forget. David, Rest In Peace. Geri Brin

I posted my comment before David’s obituary was posted. Now I’d like to add this: I worked closely with David at Fairchild starting when he was 34 years old until he left the company - at 56. It warms my heart that once he stopped working he began to enjoy the fruits of his intense and all-consuming labors as a young man. It is unnerving to read that Lewys Body invaded his life, but if anyone could stand up to this ravaging disease, it was David.

Betty, I knew and loved you and David in NYC. I worked at ICM Realty and loved our staff. My name is Janet Conroy and I worked with John Hoffman and Tony from Wycoff. I kept in touch for many years with our staff. My email is janetcnj@comcast.net. I could call you for free with my triple play. David is at peace with God and pain free. So fortunate for you both to have lived your lives together with your son. You are in my prayers, Janet Conroy in NJ.
