Dear family members of Nick,
I had the privilege of first knowing Nick when I started my career at Citibank in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Over the years I met him at sales conferences in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and New Zealand. I can sincerely say that I learnt a lot from him.
I met him again after many years at the Citicorp PPD reunion in Chicago in 2006 and was pleased to see him in good health. I thoroughly enjoyed swapping anecdotes of our time together at Citi.
I did not know that he was a veteran; that only deepens the respect I have for him.
My thoughts are with you all at this difficult time.

It was a privilege to work with Nick at Citicorp Payment Products Division in the 80's. I always felt a bond because we grew up in the same part of Westchester, he from New Rochelle and I lived in Pelham. I was glad when he hired me for the Chicago team and we had a lot of fun. Nick was a great guy and he will be missed.
I offer my sincere condolences to his family.

When I joined the PPD Sales Team working for Nick I came from the wholesale, international side of the bank. I had never had a full time sales job and Nick did an excellent job in teaching me, and helping me adapt to the culture. He will be missed by many. My most sincere condolences to his family.

As a boss, colleague, mentor and friend, Nick was in a class by himself. I had the great good fortune to travel with him to South Korea when I was still a very young man and it was both a learning experience and a pleasure. I can't begin to tell you how much he helped and influenced my business and personal life. Thank you Nick, you will be missed.
PS Frances, I know that Nick promised you he would go to mass if he was out of town, anywhere in the world, on a Sunday. He always kept that promise.

I am very sad at the news. We will all remember Nick as a fantastic human being and a unique colleague. He was the person I learned the most during my 20 years at Citi. Nick was my teacher, my boss, my protector, and above all, my friend. I will always remember the experiences of traveling with him overseas, preparing his “Monthly Review” and budget presentations, listening to his rants on the phone or next to his office, his preaching the importance of the PTS (Prospect Tracking System) to the sales team, his many sayings that reflected his thinking such as “nothing happens until you make a sale...”, “the world is made of Italians and those who wished they were Italians”, “the most important part of the presentation is making sure the numbers box”, and many others which I’m sure we all remember. I have no doubt he is already in heaven organizing their sales team, planning a garden with vegetables and flowers, and probably redesigning their celestial Org Chart.
I want to express my condolences to Fran and his family. I will alway cherish the time I spent with Nick.

It was with sadness that I heard the news about Nick’s passing and offer my condolences to his wife and family. I met Nick back in July 1984 when he interviewed me as part of my hiring process. I joined Citi PPD and was always thankful for the opportunity that he gave me to develop my career at Citigroup. Nick commanded our respect and was demanding but was always caring and inspired and challenged the team to succeed. He worked hard but also had a great sense of humor. I remember those years under his leadership, when I learned to be part of the Citi family, with fondness. I learned a lot. Thank you Nick. I will always remember and admire you.

I started with Citi (PPD) right out of college in Chicago and Nick was “giant” figure who had a big influence on my career from the start. I’ll never forget sitting between him and Bill Moran at a conference....I had numbers prepared for Bill to present...and Nick wanted to know them before they were shown to the group....I was 22 at the time....talk about getting caught in the middle.....brings a smile to my face as I remember Nick with great fondness and love!
