Obituary of Helen Hughes
Helen Harvier Hughes died peacefully at age 90 on January 27, 2012 after a long illness. Predeceased by her husband Robert of 45 years. A New Canaan resident for 56 years, Helen was a graduate of Smith College Class of 1942, an avid golfer, and longtime member of Woodway Country Club.
She is survived by her son Robert and his wife Lynn, daughter Sharon Fiyalka and her husband Arthur, and son Thomas and his wife Andrea. Grandmother of Edward Hughes and Kate Hughes Herd. Also survived by her brother Howard Harvier of Cresskill, NJ.
Services and interment are private. There are no calling hours. The Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, is in charge of arrangements.
