Obituary of Joyce Gentry
Joyce Gentry, age 75 of New Canaan, CT formerly of Franklin, TN and Long Beach, NY died Monday December 26, 2011. Born in Rockville Center, NY she was the daughter of the late Frank and Alberta O’Rourke. Joyce is predeceased by her beloved husband, Fred Gentry.
Joyce graduated from Marymount College and became schoolteacher in Oceanside, NY where she taught elementary school for over 35 years.
Joyce is survived by daughter, Mary Maguire (Arthur) of New Canaan, CT, son James S. Rowen (Diane) of Rockville Center, NY, daughter Laurel Aiello (T.J.) of Franklin, TN and daughter Heather Peters (David) of Hendersonville, TN, brother Frank O’Rourke of Oceanside, NY and sisters, Kathy Foley of Ponte Verdra Beach, FL and Pat Salkeld of Port Orange, FL, and eight grandchildren, Matt and Lizzie Maguire, Kaitlin, Jimmy and Meghan Rowen, Sean and Scot Aiello and Griffin Peters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Aloysius Church, New Canaan, CT. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer, 372 Danbury Rd, Wilton, CT 06897
