Amalia Amarilios, age 87, a New Canaan resident for over 40 years died Friday November 25, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Istanbul, Turkey August 16, 1924 she was the daughter of the late John and Vera Leontidou Tomazino. Amalia was the wife of Alexander A. Amarilios. She was a member of the Philoptochos Society of Stamford and was a former member of the New Canaan Women’s Club. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, John Amarilios of New Canaan. A funeral service will be on Wednesday at 10:00Am at the Church of the Archangels, 1527 Bedford Street, Stamford interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, New Canaan. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 pm.
