Obituary of Natalie Ohland
Natalie DeClerque Ohland, 88, a longtime resident of New Canaan, passed away on November 18, 2008 at Waveny Care Center, where she had been a volunteer. She was born on January 19, 1920 to Henry H. and Bertha Stevens DeClerque of Winnetka, IL. A graduate of North Shore County Day School, Natalie Ohland attended Pine Manor Junior College in Chestnut Hill, MA. She will long be remembered for her deep love of animals and her passion for sporting around town in her unique automobiles.
Mrs. Ohland was predeceased by her husband, Otto A. Ohland. lll. Besides her husband and her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, E. Stevens DeClerque. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Caroline B. DeClerque of Haverford, PA., her two nieces Stacy Stevens DeClerque of Lake Placid, NY and Julia Lee DeClerque of Chapel Hill, NC and nephew, David S. DeClerque. Of Summit, NJ.
A private memorial will be held at Big Wolf Lake, Tupper Lake, NY. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 455 Post Road East, Westport, CT 06880, (203)227-4137. Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St., New Canaan, is in charge of services.
