Obituary of Samuel Colacicco
Samuel Colacicco Sr, age 87, of Cape Coral, Florida, formerly a lifelong resident of Stamford, CT died Thursday Sept. 22, 2011 with his family by his side. Born in Foggia, Italy December 7, 1923 he was the son of the late Alfonso and Clementina Ruggiero Colacicco. Samuel was the husband of the late Lucille Ferrara Colacicco.
A W.W II- US Army Veteran and a life long member of VFW Post 9617 Springdale. Sam was the owner of Shippan Point Chevron in Stamford for many years. He was an avid car lover, mechanic, Bocci player and host to many picnics for family and friends.
Survivors include, two sons, Al (Funzy) and his wife Denise Colacicco of Stamford,
Samuel Jr. and his wife Jackie Colacicco of Cape Coral, FL,
One daughter, Gloria and her husband Robert Lapolla of Stratford, CT
One brother, Anthony Colacicco of Grand Forks, ND and five sisters, Lorraine Marzzulo of Danbury, Susan Zoppi of New Milford, Ida Esposito of Stamford, Antoinette Longo of Greenwich, and Lucy Kamberi of Stamford. Seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive.
He was predeceased by a sister Theresa Pedwano.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, Elm St, Stamford, Ct . Interment will follow in Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery directly following the mass.
