Obituary of Margaret Oettle
Margaret H. Oettle, 94, of Poughkeepsie died Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie.
Born in Mc Keeseport, PA., Margaret was the daughter of Nicholas and Agnes Bugyis Jacob. She attended schools in New York City. Formerly of New Canaan, CT, she has been a resident of Poughkeepsie since 1979.
On June 19, 1937 at St. Aloysius Church in New Canaan, CT., she married a young German immigrant, William F. Oettle, the love of her life. Mr. Oettle predeceased her in 1972.
Margaret studied violin beginning at the age of 8 and was a guest soloist several times with the New York Symphony. She was a member of the Germania Chorus, and the Ladies Auxilliary of the S. Norwalk Quartet Club.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret A. Oettle of Poughkeepsie; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and cousins in Germany; dear friends Everett and Elfriede Merritt of Maryland; her roommate Gloria Dubrosky, and many residents and devoted staff at Lutheran Care Center whom she considered her extended family.

Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, New Canaan, CT.
