Obituary of Dora Gilbert
Dora L. Gilbert, age 94, a resident of New Canaan for over 70 years died Friday October 17, 2008, at home. Born in Benedicta, Maine Feb. 24, 1914 she was the daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth Gormley Qualey. She was the wife of the late Austen S. Gilbert who died in 1997.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne A. Gilbert of New Canaan and Richard A. Gilbert of Denmark, Maine one sister Elizabeth Cignatta of Baltimore, MD and grandchildren
Jason Gilbert of San Clemente, CA, Kelly Gilbert of Charlotte, NC and Brian Scott of Chester, New Jersey and a son-in-law Ralph M. Scott of New Canaan
She was pre-deceased by 2 daughters Marlene Keane and Mary Ann Scott
A Memorial Mass will be held on Sat. October 25, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St Aloysius Church, Cherry Street, New Canaan. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, New Canaan. I lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Nursing and Home Care, 761 Main Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06851 The Hoyt Funeral Home, New Canaan has charge of arrangements.
