Dear Kevin, I am Carolyn Frye Halloran's younger sister-and I remember Kristen well from high school and from Kristen's friendship with Carolyn. My sister would be so saddened with this news...but after her 4 year battle with cancer and loss in 2000-I know they are reunited -both now happy and with their vibrant , fun-loving spirits and beautiful smiles, shining down on us. I remember 'talking horses' with Kristen over the years...it was a gift to know her and I pray for strength you, her children and for Britt (knowing what it is like to have lost a sister to early in life after a difficult cancer battle), and strength in the coming days. My sister's spirit still shines through, somehow, some way, and I know Kristen's will too. Keep looking, you will see it, and her, in ways you never expected but I know this can't take away your saddness today, and how I wish I could. With deepest sympathy.. DIane

I never met Kristen but I've know Kevin for many years. Whenever he spoke of her, his eyes would light up, a smile would come across his face and there was enthusiasm in his voice. He couldn't hide his love for her. She must have been a wonderful wife, mother and best friend. My sincerest condolences to Kevin and his family.

A song for Kristen. Her light will shine on in all who knew her. Love and prayers to all of her family.
The Sunshine Girl
(For Kristen 6/13/11)
You wake up in the morning
with a smile upon your face
Your smiling face
Your glowing face
You take to the day knowing
of the possiblities
that are in place
in every way
It's not the number of years that you live
but the moments you make today
Showing every day you ought to give
of yourself
My sunshine girl, sunshine girl
(got a smile that's gonna light the world)
My sunshine girl
(show it every day that you give)

I always admired Kristen. Her advice to me as a new Mom at the Montessori School made a big difference in how I was able to support my kid's time there. I can see her doing these amazing yoga moves with Oni, so happy when she met and married Kevin, planting flowers in her Ridgefield Garden, and her eyes shining when she talked about her kids. Dear Kristen, may you rest in peace and may your loved ones find solace in the love you so graciously shared with them.

Kristen, you were a beautiful woman with an incredible smile and a zest for life that I so admire. I'll never forget the amazing time you and your sister and I had in Italy less than 2 years ago. Much of my pleasure on the trip was watching the joy you had living life to its fullest...whether you were sketching and sipping a cappucino in Portofino, taking a cooking class and crying and laughing with the chef, or the excitement in your eyes when you found "just the right gift" for one of your loved ones back home. My heart goes out to your family; you will be sorely missed. Love, Linda

"Giving"
From The Prophet
by Kahlil Gibran
You give little when you give of your possessions.
It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.
For what are your possessions but things you keep and guard for fear you may need them tomorrow?
And tomorrow, what shall tomorrow bring to the over prudent dog burying bones in the trackless sand as he follows the pilgrims to the holy city?
And what is fear of need but need itself?
Is not dread of thirst when your well is full, the thirst that is unquenchable?
There are those who give little of the much they have and they give it for recognition and their hidden desire makes their gifts wholesome.
And there are those who have little and give it all.
These are believers in life and the beauty of life, and their coffer is never empty.
There are those who give with joy, and that joy is their reward.
And there are those who give with pain, and that pain is their baptism.
And there are those who give and know not pain in giving, nor do they seek joy, nor give with mindfulness of virtue;
They give as in yonder valley the myrtle breathes it’s fragrance into space.
Through the hands of such as these, God speaks, and from behind their eyes, He smiles upon the earth.

Kristen was a beautiful woman beginning at the core of her being to her sparkling smile and vivacious personality. She met her soulmate, Kevin, who together radiates what's important in life. I have always admired Kristen since I was a young Trooper with her decades ago. I had the pleasure of reconnecting with her and saw the joy in her eyes when she told me about her new son, Charlie and how happy she was with her life. May her smile remind us of life's gifts and all the lives she touched.

Kristen was an amazing woman, I use that word in its exact meaning. She was the strongest person I've every met. A great mom, an engaging and engaged individual. She lit up the world around her. She was a joy to behold, an example to all who surrounded her. I will miss her dearly.

Dear Kristen was such an inspiration in a myriad of ways. Her courage in meeting diverse challenges, & dealing with them head-on was so very admirable. I have missed her in recent years, yet still cherish our many personal & enthusiastic discussions while playing golf, dining, & just sitting by the Block Island shore together. Kristen had such voracious love for life & family - never missing a beat- and blossomed as a teacher, which she worked very hard at.She was an incredible woman, mother, a dear friend, and absolutely beautiful through & through. Our sincere condolensces to Britt, Meg & all of the family - she will live on in our thoughts and hearts.
With Love, Lorraine & children- Jackson, Nicolle & Danielle Keogh

Kristen, I shall always remember the good times we shared at New Canaan Mounted Troop with Bentley and Sinbad. I will never forget that you were the driving force behind NCMT's 50th anniversary celebration. It was such a wonderful, memorable day for everyone who was in attendance. You deserve all the credit for that day because without your enthusiasm and your guidance, there would have been no celebration.
Everyone whose lives you touched will always remember you.

I had the great pleasure of knowing Kristen for a short time during the times we were in art class together. She was so interested in learning everything.
I didn't know her well, but she seemed just as caring and passionate as Britt, and that's a wonderful thing.
My condolences go out to her whole family and know that her candle will never go out.
