What a fine man, Bud was/is... He makes us all smile. Even our 21 year old daughter who has been away most of the time we have lived here, was so sad to hear he had passed. I am concerned about his wife, knowing how he told me how he cared for her and helped dress her, and his doggie that he also loved so. I hope loving family members are able to fill in that big whole Bud left. BUT he left us all with a big smile on our face cause he was just such a neat guy!

Dear Pheobe, Betsy and Fran.
How sad I was when I read the Advirtiser on Friday. Bud will be missed. Bud along with Ray and Bob were the heart of New Canaan Taxi. He was so helpful to me. I remember the first year I was there things were very hard and I was about to give up, but thinking of Bud Ray and Bob helped me to continue. Bud always had kind words and good advice for me. I will always remember him fondly. Karen and I send our deepest sympathy.

Bud lit up our lives each time we entered the Wilson Point gate. We will sorely miss him. A true gentleman, Bud represented the best of his amazing generation. His hard work, loyalty to family and friends, dedication to his work and his kind personality have left an indelible mark on our memory.
We feel fortunate to have seen his and Phoebe's home and had the experience of hearing Bud's interesting and heartfelt Aexplanation of their wonderful antique collections.
Our deepest sympathy to all who loved him.

My family and I send our condolences to you and your family. It's hard to look out the window and noy seeing Mr. Holly getting into his car to go to work or maybe to the store. But he is now resting from all the years of hard work. Our prayers are with your family.

We are sorry for your loss, Phoebe and Frann - We have such goof memories of visiting when we were growing up in Broad River, and of your father at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion being the BEST Santa Claus that they had. He loved all the children who came to him and they knew it - and Phoebe as Mrs. Claus, and Frannie as Frosty were just examples of the community spirit that the Holly family gave to whatever project they were involved in. The Mansion is not the same, sadly, but the good memories are still there. I do not know Bud's other children, but I am sure that they carry on his traditions and kindness, and our thoughts are with you all.

Bud always provided to us a wonderful welcome to Wilson Point, from the day we first came here to build our home to last week. Our grandchildren always asked about him and certainly about Trouble.
Our sympathies go out to his family. He was a great man !

The Mannings and Dunnes have long been admirers and fans of Bud Holly. The Dunne children will never forget the day they saw a little beagle with Bud at the gatehouse. Bud explained to them it was a lost dog. Did they know whose it was? The children got very interested, and ran home to get a leash, and some dog food. They made posters saying "Lost Dog" and hung them up around the neighborhood. They were thrilled when Bud informed us that no one had claimed the dog, and that henceforth it would be the gatehouse dog, named Trouble. We all loved seeing Bud together with Trouble, and hearing stories about their adventures. The Mannings and Dunnes will never forget Bud Holly. He was a wonderful man who cheered us every day with his smile and his extraordinary warmth. We already miss him. --Kate Manning and Carey Dunne and family.

Bud was like an angel for me. When I walked in Wilson Point with our dog Puck (and Sandy and Jake before him) I would often have the chance to have a long chat with Bud who would stop to talk as he drove around the Point. The words of wisdom he imparted often stayed with me throughout my day. What a blessing to have Bud in my life - I will miss him but know that he had a rich and fulfilling life filled with love for his wife and family and work, which he enjoyed and a creative spirit.

Right when the caterpillar thought it was over, he turned into the butterfly. Bud's body may have left this world but his spirit, his memory, his love for his wife, his family and Trouble will never be forgotten. Let him live on in your heart and your happiness will be his happiness. It was an honor to have known him and his positive spirit.
