Obituary of Florence Harris
Florence C. Harris died of natural causes at her home in New Canaan on Feb. 1st. She was 100 years old. Florence was a resident of Greenwich for 50 years. She and her late husband William M. Harris Jr. moved to Greenwich in 1943 and she lived here until 1993.
While in Greenwich, Florence was a long time volunteer for the Greenwich chapter of The American Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. She was also very active with The Women's Club of Greenwich.
She is survived by her son John C. Harris of Sandwich, N.H. and her daughter Ellen H. Byrne of South Salem, N.Y and 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Florence was pre-deceased by her son William M. Harris 3rd. who died in 1992.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
