Obituary of Jane Creegan
Jane A. Creegan, 97, of New Canaan, CT, died Monday evening January 31, 2011, at Waveny Care Center, New Canaan. Born in New York City, April 19, 1913, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna Wright. Jane was the wife of the late John B. Creegan who died in 1990. She resided in Riverdale, NY, for over 50 years and had a 25 year career at Selchow & Righter Games. She moved to the New Canaan Inn in 2001. She is survived by her two daughters Marylyn Flynn and her husband Thomas of Wilton, CT, and Joan Elicker and her husband Gordon of New Canaan, CT. Five grandchildren, Thomas and Christopher Flynn; Brett, Justin and Ashley Elicker; and two great-grandsons, Cole and Jack Elicker, also survive.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011, at 10:00 am at St. Aloysius Church, Cherry Street, New Canaan, CT. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
Friends may call at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan, on Thursday evening, February 3, from 4 to 8 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the New Canaan Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 182 South Avenue, New Canaan, CT 06840.
