Troy Matthew Schutte, age 49, of Stamford died Thursday January 13, 2011 at his home. Born In Stamford, CT, February 28, 1961 he was the son of Richard T. and Sandra Calitri Schutte of Grand Rapids, Michigan formerly of New Canaan. Troy was a graduate of New Canaan High School. He was an avid tennis player who played for many years at the New Canaan Racquet Club and Mead Park and had won the town men’s title. He was most recently named President of the tenants association where he lived. He loved animals and was an advocate for them. In addition to his parents, Troy is survived by his brother, William T. Schutte of Grand Rapids, MI and partner Gene Davidson and also his godmother Marion Forlivio of New Canaan A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday January 20, 2011 at 11:00 Am at St. Aloysius Church, Cherry Street, New Canaan, Interment private`. Friends may call in the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan on Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm. He will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor, and sorely missed by his family and many friends.
