Obituary of Mercedes Diaz
Ceres Aranalde Diaz, age 94, grandmother of Micaela Porta and Gabriela Beecher, died Sunday, January 2, 2011 in Stamford Hospital. Born in Havana, Cuba, March 5, 1916, Mrs. Diaz resided in Coral Gables, Florida. She was predeceased by her husband, Ramon Eduardo Diaz.
She is survived by two daughters, Angela Diaz Porta of Riverdale, New York, and Esperanza Diaz Mañas of New York, New York; two sisters, Moraima Baldor of Coral Gables, Florida, and Juliana Breads of Plymouth, Minnesota; three granddaughters, Micaela Porta, Gabriela Beecher, and Cristina Mañas; and four great-grandchildren, Aurelio Victor Alvarez, Caroline Beecher, Lucas Alvarez, and Charlotte Beecher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 6th at St Raymond's Church in Miami, Florida. Interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Cabellero Rivero Woodlawn – Miami Funeral Home, 3344 So West 8th Street, Miami on Wednesday evening from 5:00-10:00pm.
