Obituary of Nino Vascotto
Nino Vascotto, 87, of New Canaan, died Thursday, December 9, 2010 at his home. Born July 23, 1923 in Isola, Italy, he was the son of the late Antonio and Carmela DeGrassi Vascotto. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the US Navy.
Nino is survived by his wife, Ida Braiuca Vascotto of New Canaan, his daughter, Luisa Goldschmidt and her husband Mark of New Canaan, his brother Pino Vascotto of Italy and his two grandchildren, Stefanie and David Goldschmidt.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at St. Aloysius Church, New Canaan at 8:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, New Canaan.
The family will receive friends at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St. New Canaan on Friday, December 10, 2010 from 5-8 PM.
