Nancy Bonner of Norwalk, CT, and former longtime resident of New Canaan, CT, died November 29, 2010 in Norwalk Hospital at the age of 74. Born November 7, 1936 in Flushing, NY, she was the daughter of the late James Elliott and Frances Ryan Smith. Nancy’s hallmark was her passion for caring for people. Over many years she worked as a registered nurse at Norwalk Hospital, where to this day she is remembered warmly by coworkers. Even in her retirement, Nancy was known for her care of residents at her nursing home. Nancy attended Saint Mary's School in Raleigh, NC, the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO, and Norwalk Community College in Norwalk, CT. She was married to John Tedrowe Bonner II, of Greenfield, NH. She was later graced by two special and loving friendships, first with Judy Bennett of San Diego, CA, and then with Diane Bockar, formerly of Westport, CT. Nancy was an accomplished tennis player and equestrian. She was an ardent lover of classical music and a beautiful singer. Nancy is survived by her daughter Katrina Westwell Bonner of Coral Gables, FL, and John Tedrowe Bonner III of Nesconset, NY. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Smith of Santa Fe, NM.
