Helen A. DiScala, age 92 , a lifelong New Canaan resident died Sunday evening, October 17, 2010 at home surrounded by her family and caregiver. Born in New Canaan March 1, 1918 , she was the daughter of the late Eugenio and Marietta Cesaroni Re. Helen was the wife of the late Louis M. DiScala. She was a communicant of St Aloysius Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court # 749. She is survived by her daughter, Christine M. Hussey of New Canaan her son, Michael L. DiScala and his wife Karen of Springfield, IL her Grandchildren , Joseph Hussey, Jr and his wife Karen, Matthew Hussey, Lisa Whelan and her husband James , Majors Kristen Westby, USAF and her husband Joshua, Jeffrey DiScala, and 2nd Lieutentant Craig DiScala, Indiana ANG and his wife Kristine. And her Great-grandchildren, Patrick Hussey, Billy Hussey, Martin Hussey, Callie Whelan, Mae Whelan, Sam DiScala, and Taylor Westby In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Joseph E. Hussey Sr. and her siblings, Victor, Nicholas, Ferdinando, Guillermo, Americo, Charles, Edith Andronaco, and Clara Iaizzi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 10:00, at St. Aloyisus Church, Cherry St, New Canaan with interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St, New Canaan on Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm.
