Sharon Ann Sudell Luciano of New Canaan died July 15, 2010 at Norwalk Hospital. The oldest of three children, she was born on June 16, 1938 at United Hospital in Rye, NY and was the daughter of the late Andrew John Sudell and Shirley Julia Hansen Sudell of Greenwich. She is also predeceased by a brother, Thomas John Sudell of Naples, Florida. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Jim. Also surviving are two sons, James and his family, wife Carrie and two daughters, Emily and Katherine of New Canaan, and a son Steven and his two children, Andrew and Caroline of Wilton. She also leaves a sister, Louise Jaworski of Stamford and several nieces and nephews. Sharon worked for the United Methodist church for over 22 years. She was involved volunteering in her community in many ways over her entire lifetime. She was very active in any and all areas that involved children. For many years she worked in the New Canaan school system as a front desk assistant at the library as well as serving as the President of the New Canaan High School Association. She was also active in New Canaan Boys Baseball. She never missed a game that her boys played in and took great pride in watching them in all their efforts. Together with her husband Jim she delivered Meals-on-Wheels for the past 10 years. Sharon experienced and took joy in all the accomplishments of her two sons and her four grandchildren. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Calling hours will be at Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan on Sunday July 18th from 2pm-6pm. A service to celebrate her life will be held at the United Methodist Church of New Canaan, with Pastor Eric Fjeldal officiating on Monday July 19th at 10am. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
