Theresa J. Engelke, age 84, of Milford, CT formerly of New Canaan, CT died peacefully Friday evening August 17, 2018 in Branford Hospice. Born in Ansonia, CT April 22, 1934 she was the daughter of the late John and Julia Chucta. She was the former wife of the late Richard A. Engelke. Theresa enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Terry is survived by two sons, Richard and his wife Karen Ferraro of Newtown, CT, and Mark and his wife Nicole of Chatham, NJ. Eight grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren also survive. She was predeceased by her son Ronald, brother Steve Chucta and sister, Florence Russo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM in St. Aloysius Church, Cherry St, New Canaan, CT Interment will be in St Johns Cemetery, Norwalk, CT The family will receive friends at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan Tuesday evening from 4 pm to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to support breast cancer research.
