Obituary of John Marlow

John Conrad Marlow M.D., age 64, of New Canaan died peacefully on Monday the 30th of April 2018. John was born in Madison, Wisconsin on July 14th, 1953. He was the son of the late Gordon and Ina Marlow. He battled his illness with courage, strength, warmth, humor and integrity. He will be most remembered by all who knew him for his kindness, thoughtfulness, warm heart and inner strength, especially when caring for his patients. John was a graduate of the University of St. Thomas where he received degrees in Chemistry and Mathematics. Furthering his education, John attended the University of Texas Medical School at Houston to receive his Doctorate of Medicine. From there, John went to complete his internship and general surgical training at St. Joseph’s Hospital. In the working world, John constantly strove to improve himself. He started as a private physician, and was able to grow to Regional Medical Director of John Hancock Financial Services, VP of Healthcare Programs at CAPP care, VP of Medical Content at Medsen, Chief Medical Officer of Wyeth-Ayerst, Healthology, and Advenstar Commuications, and finally founding his own company Collaborative Pharma Resources Inc.(CPRI) which he ran as president. John was a member of the New Canaan Rotary Club, the Fairfield County Medical Association, the American Medical Association, as well as the Association for Corporate Growth. In his down time, John was often found on the golf course, relaxing with a mystery novel, or peacefully meditating. John is survived by his spouse Victoria Zupa, his sons Nicholas Marlow of Georgia and Kristian Marlow of Texas. John is also survived by his brother, Scott Marlow of Madison, Wisconsin and his mother-in-law Ilse Gerdes-Zupa. A Memorial Service will be held on June 2nd, 2018. The family will be receiving friends at Hoyt Funeral Home from 1PM until 3PM with a prayer service beginning at 2PM. Interment will be private. If possible, in lieu of traditional flower arrangements, the family asks for flowers that can easily be replanted into the earth so they can bloom once again in memory of John. We do ask however that the flowers not be red, since John was not too fond of red. If you do not wish to send flowers, donations in his name may be sent to donations.heartfulness.org.
