Obituary of Carolyn G. Barfuss
Carolyn Giddings Barfuss died at Norwalk Hospital on July 21 after a 6 month illness. She was 80.
Mrs. Barfuss was born on February 19, 1929 in Plainfield, NJ. She graduated from Trinity College, Washington D.C. in 1951.
In 1955 she married Francois Barfuss. Their four children were born in Berkeley Heights, NJ before moving to Woodbridge, CT in 1971 and finally to New Canaan in 1978.
Carolyn was an active member or the community; past Regent of The Hannah Bennedict Carter Chapter of The Daughters of The American Revolution (DAR), member of The Ladies Guild of St Aloysius, member of The Middlesex Genealogical Society, member of the Fairfield County Computer Users Group.
She is survived by her husband Frank, daughter Annie Baker and granddaughter Katie of Lake Havasu, Ariz., son Andy and wife Lisa and grandchildren Courtney, Christopher, Molly and Jack of New Canaan, CT, daughter Marjorie and husband Clive Bannister and grandsons Charlton, Conrad and Julius of London, England, daughter Eileen and husband Paul Baber and grandsons Michael and Matthew of Kent, England.
A Mass will be celebrated On Saturday , July 25, 2009 at 10:00 at St Aloysius Church, Cherry St. New Canaan. Internment will be in Putnam Cemetery, Greenwich at a later date.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 pm on Friday evening at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St, New Canaan, CT.
