Mary C. Ouellette, 88, of Norwalk CT passed away on February 2nd, 2018. She was born in New Canaan, CT on July 16th, 1929 and graduated from New Canaan High School in the class of 1947. She is predeceased by her husband, Lawrence (Lefty) Ouellette, whom she met in grammar school and ultimately married. Mary was also preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Nellie Chappa, her aunt Addline Benedict, and her two brothers, Raymond and William Chappa. She is survived by her children Laurene (Michael) Tucciarone, Terri (Rod) Cohane and Lawrence (Kelly) Ouellette. Mary is also survived by three beloved grandchildren, William and Casey Ouellette and Addie Cohane. Mary worked as a medical assistant and bookkeeper for over 35 years and volunteered as a receptionist at Norwalk Hospital for 17 years after retirement. Over the years she volunteered for many different charities including Meals on Wheels; she was also an active parishioner at St. Matthew Parish since it’s founding. An avid sports fan since high school, she loved to watch her grandchildren's games and activities. She was a wonderful hostess and most all family gatherings were held at her home. Mary loved to talk and her sense of humor was enjoyed by many. Visiting hours will be from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday, February 6th at Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan, CT. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 7th at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk, CT.
