Obituary of Maria Bonapace
Maria Bonapace formerly of the Bronx,NY died peacefully on January 7, 2018 in Stamford with her loving family by her side. Maria was 98 years old.
Maria was born in Pinzolo, Italy on March 12, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Silvio Caola and Lucia Cereghini. Maria was pre deceased by her husband Modesto Bonapace.
Maria grew up in St. Louis, MO and she loved her St. Louis Cardinals. She moved to the Bronx when she married Modesto in 1967. She worked for AIG in lower Manhattan for over 30 years and lived through the 9/11 Terror Attack. In 2008 she moved to Stamford to be closer to her family.
Maria is survived by her nephew James Masé, his wife Adele and their children Laura, James and Thomas of New Canaan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 10 at 10:00AM at St. Aloysius Church, 21 Cherry St., New Canaan. Burial will take place at 1:30PM at St. Raymond’s Cemetery 2600 Lafayette Ave., Bronx, NY. The family will receive friends at Hoyt Funeral Home 199 Main St., New Canaan on Wednesday from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Aloysius Church.
