Vincent A. Socci
Vincent A. Socci, age 70 a lifetime New Canaan resident passed away Sunday May 9, 2010 peacefully at home with his loving family by his side. Born in Norwalk, July 18, 1939 he was the son of the late Joseph and Matilda Sillo Socci. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susan Candini Socci, his son, Lewis P. Socci and his wife, Sally of Sandy Hook, CT. Two daughters, Maria Conroy and her husband Thomas of Las Vegas, NV and Catherine Scheurle and her husband Robert of Boca Raton, FL.
Two sisters, Mary Socci Butkowsky of Ft. Pierce, FL and Maryann S. Meyer of Ridgefield, CT
Eight grandchildren, Catherine and Patrick Conroy, Susan, Mary, Jennifer and Joseph Socci and Kristin and Jenna Scheurle
Vincent was a US Army Veteran and a graduate of New Canaan High School, class of 1958 and in 1996 he received a Bachelor of Science in Management from California Coast University.
He was a Restaurateur for 35 years owning and operating Mattie’s, Rigolettos, and Vinnie’s Café. Vincent was the food service manager at the New Canaan Inn and Cherry Street East.
Vincent actively participated in both state and local politics. He was a member of the Republican Town Committee, Planning and Zoning Board of Appeals and a member of the New Canaan Board of Selectmen. In addition, he held a seat on the Republican State Central Committee and the Charter Oak College State Board of Academic Awards. Vincent was a loyal member to many of the New Cannan service clubs as well as the New Cannan Fire Department.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 10:00AM at
St Aloysius Church, Cherry Street, New Canaan. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
A reception will follow at The Columbus Center, 43 Vitti Street, New Canaan.
