Michael Angelastro, age 83 a New Canaan resident for over 60 years and retired New Canaan Police Captain died Saturday evening October 12, 2013 at home with his loving family by his side. Born in the Bronx, NY June 14, 1930 He was the son of the late Cosmo and Theresa Angelastro. He was the husband of Anita Mincello Angelastro. Mike worked as a police officer for over 30 years with the New Canaan Police Department. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War . In addition to his wife Mike is survived by his two sons, Robert of New Canaan, and Richard of Norwalk , one daughter Cara Lee DeLuca and her husband Ronald of Norwalk. Five grandchildren also survive. Mike was predeceased by his son Michael. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday October 16, at 10:00AM at St Aloysius Church, Cherry Street, New Canaan, with interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan on Tuesday evening from 4 to 8 PM.
