Arline Gardner Crary passed away on Friday, April 23, 2010 from a brain hemorrhage at the age of 86. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Dr. Horace I. Crary of New Canaan, CT, her children Jane D. Crary, Horace I. Crary, Jr. and his wife Susan, Dianne G. Crary, and Robert C. K. Crary, and her grandchildren Gardner S. Crary, Ian I. Crary, and Nicholas A. Crary, of New York City. She will be greatly missed for the love and caring she gave to family and friends. Born in Brooklyn, New York she was the daughter of Harold S. and Doris C. Gardner. She graduated from Packer Collegiate Institute and received a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio State. A resident of New Canaan for 54 years, she was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Stamford-Norwalk, a founding member, along with her husband, of the New Canaan Winter Club, and a member of the Country Club of New Canaan and the Colony Club of New York. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, May 1st at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in New Canaan, CT.
