Eugenia E. Graf (nee Hurst) 91, passed peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of Monday March 13th. Known as Jean to her friends and family, and Oma to her grandkids she graduated Adelphi University as a Registered Nurse in 1947. She married later that year to her husband of 65 years Richard (Dick) and raised her family in Middletown on the Jersey shore. Retiring to Vista in Westchester County, NY, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Richard in 2013 and a son Richard in 1974. Surviving are a brother George P. Hurst, her daughter & son-in-law Lynda & Addy Hamid, a daughter Wendi Griffin, six grandchildren Aaron, Shana & Trisha Hamid, Nicholas, Michael & Melissa Griffin, and a great-granddaughter Olivia Wren Hamid. She was the tough matriarch of our family with a tender heart and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 19 at Hoyt Funeral Home 199 Main St. New Canaan from 3pm-5pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday March 20, at 10:00AM at St. Aloysius Church in New Canaan. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
