Maria Assunta Socci Buzzeo, age 103, a lifelong resident of New Canaan died peacefully Tuesday March 7,2017 in Stamford Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in New Canaan August 15, 1913 she was the daughter of the late Tomas and Antoinetta D’Amario Socci. She was predeceased by her husband Michael in 1991. Maria is survived by her two daughters Maria Bianco ( Michael) and Antoinetta Lanni both of New Canaan, 4 sons, Dominic (Clara)of Lewiston, NY , Jesse(Wendy) of Brookfield, CT and Mario( Lisa)of Lockport, NY and John of New Canaan, 24 grand-children, 45 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren, and daughter in law, Loretta Buzzeo. Maria was predeceased by her son Gino, son- in- law Giustino Lanni, daughter- in- law Linda Buzzeo and granddaughter Catherine Buzzeo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday March 11, 2017 at 10:00Am at St Aloysius Church, Cherry St., New Canaan. Entombment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
