Kyung Ja Yu, age 87, died Thursday February 9, 2017, at her home in New Canaan. She passed away peacefully in her sleep and spent her last moments with her loving family.Born in Seoul, South Korea on November 11, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Hyun Seng Kim and Bok Soon Kim. She moved to the United States in her adulthood, spending her years in both California and Connecticut with her family. Survivors include her two daughters, Bok Yun Ju and her husband John of New Canaan and Helen Kim of Hawaii, and grandchildren, Margaret Park and her husband Alexander Park, Andrew Kim and his wife Jodilynn Kim, Maria Ju, Angela Gaynor and her husband Matthew Gaynor, and Stella Ju; her great-granddaughter Kaylana Couture. Kyung Ja Yu is preceded in death by her first husband, Yun Ho Kim ; her second husband John Yu; as well as her daughter Kyung Yun Kim. Kyung Ja Yu was strong yet gentle at the same time. Her life was filled with laughter and love. Her faith was unwavering, she spread kindness to all, and instilled Christian values to her loved ones.
