Betsy was far and away the coolest kid at TAC (Teen Age Camp) in Milford, PA 1975. She was folksy, country, even a little redneck and completely comfortable in her skin. She called herself "Banjo Betsy Fein," wore flannel plaid shirts, and completely inhabited a personality I don't know to this day whether it was organic or schtick. She was hysterically witty, cute as can be (and the closest we had to real blonde in Jewish summer camp), I had an enormous crush on her. She could make me belly laugh with a facial expression or a sarcastic quip.
Our friendship continued sporadically for several years after camp, as her friend Susan dated my friend Mitch. I'd visit Mitch, sometimes for several days (I'd moved with my parents to Virginia), and seeing Betsy would be a highlight of each visit. She was pure joy. One time Mitch and I got to her house and she was hopping around, literally shaking with excitement. "You HAVE to hear this, you have to hear it!" she shouted. She had just bought the album Fragile, by Yes, and she turned up the speakers unthinkably loud and put the needle on the record. The song "Roudabout" came on she started dancing / air guitaring / and lip syncing along to music the likes of which I'd never heard before. Even today when that song comes on I'm immediately transported into that moment. I spent an hour watching her immersive performance and it was one of the best hours I've ever spent.
To me, Betsy had everything: brains, wit, beauty and a bit of Country.
Betsy, Rest in Peace.

John, Pamela, Lauren and Robbie,
I have many fond memories of Betsy and your family. It was a pleasure coaching Robbie at New Canaan and then Everton. Betsy was so kind ALL the time, she was such a supportive mom and wanted the best for Robbie (and Pamela and Lauren) but she also wanted the best for every other player on the team....and me (the coach) and Veena (my girlfriend and now wife) as well! She could never do enough to help us in any way she could. What a wonderful lady. I know she was so proud of all of her children (Robbie I can't believe you are in college! I saw the pics of you playing for New Canaan Varsity and it made me very proud).
Sending all our love and thinking of you all.

Dear John, Pamela, Lauren & Robbie, My heart is with you. Betsy was one of the most important people in my life. Best friends since the age of 8, my stories are endless. Any trouble I ever got into was with Betsy. Although we lost touch at times, we always reconnected like not a day had gone by. She was the warmest most caring person I know. There was an authentic peace & kindness that shined in her eyes. She loved you all with all her heart. The pride burst from her. Mitchell (husband who she introduced me to) & I will always be here for you. Lots of love, Susan

To Betsy's family and friends,
My deepest condolences to all of you in the loss of such a wonderful kind and caring person.
I will never forget the great time I spent with Betsy, Irene, David, Diana, Marcia and Ray 3 1/2 years ago in New Mexico at David and Diana's house.
It was such a joyous weekend with everyone. It is with great sadness that I send this and wish I could be with all of you to say goodbye to Betsy.
She left us way too soon.
My love to all of you,
Your Cousin Marc, Kamin, Denver, CO.
