Obituary of Natalie Peiser
Natalie (Diamond) Peiser, 87, of Stamford, CT and formerly of Oak Park, IL passed away on December 14, 2016 surrounded by the love of her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. I.J. Peiser, brother Edwin Diamond and twin sister Charlotte Diamond and is survived by her son Mark Peiser and daughter in law Cynthia Sayers Peiser of New Canaan, son Daniel Peiser and partner Cameron McGowan of Vancouver, Canada, and her beloved grandsons Joseph, John and Matthew Peiser.
Natalie was born on March 3, 1929 in Chicago, IL to the late Louis and Jessie Diamond. She graduated from the University of Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Natalie had a variety of occupations. She worked for the U.S. Army Special Services Club, helping support troop morale in post World War II Germany. She was a tour guide at the U.N. in New York and worked with in her husband’s optometry practice as a Vision Therapist in Chicago. After she retired, she worked as a docent for the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio in Oak Park, Illinois.
Natalie was an avid bicyclist and enjoyed riding on the bike paths along Lake Michigan. She loved pets, particularly cats and dogs, and spent many hours pampering them. She was delighted by the time she spent with family, especially with her grandsons and attended many of their events and activities.
The Peiser family will receive friends at Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St, New Canaan, CT on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 6 – 8pm. A memorial service will be held in Chicago at a date yet to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Natalie’s memory can be made to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
