Melba A. Wuhrer, wife of the late Ande J. Wuhrer of East Norwalk, passed away Friday May 8th at Bridgeport Hospital after a long illness. She has been a resident of Trumbull for the last seven years. Melba was born in Norwalk on March 25th 1925. She was a singer and an artist but spent most of her life caring for her seven children. She is survived by son Andrew of Naples, FL, son Fred of Trumbull, son Eric and wife Sonya of Jamestown RI, son Jonathan and wife Kathi of Milford, son Matthew and wife Donna of Trumbull, daughter Marie of Southport, and daughter Gretchen and husband Richard of Huntington. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 11, at 11:00 am at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan, CT 06840. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery, New Canaan. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Nora F. Pfreim Breast Cancer Center of Bridgeport Hospital.
