Paul Toms was called home to our Lord on December 17, 2015. Paul passed suddenly and unexpectedly shortly after moving to Colorado to begin a new adventure. A resident of Ridgefield, CT, Paul lived A generous, happy and dynamic life. He was 62 years old at the time of his death. A master gardener, Paul purchased his family's garden center in 1978, making it one of the most successful garden centers in New Canaan, CT. Toms Home and Garden outgrew its location and in 1985 Paul relocated it to Vista, NY. Paul and his family ran the garden center until 2001 when he sold it to purchase a bed and breakfast in Cornish, NH. Paul always kept his hands in gardening and landscaping - the business he loved and was passionate about. Paul had a successful internet presence through garden-shops.com and The Traveling Garden Center where clients could learn about their gardens. Paul was admired for his vast experience and skill in the garden industry. Paul's family and friends were the most important part of his life. He attended and videoed every dance recital, play, and soccer game for his children. He is survived by his wife Theresa Toms of 38 years, his daughter Jennifer M.T. Eastes and her husband Jud P.T. Eastes, his son Brian P. Toms, and his granddaughter Amelia. Paul is also survived by his mother Virginia Toms, his brother Howard B Toms III and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Clarence M. Toms (Bud). Paul's life will be celebrated on Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Greenfield Hill Grange in Fairfield, CT, 1873 HILLSIDE RD.
