Ms. Anne Geraldine Conroy, 89, of New Canaan, passed away on August 17, 2016, at Norwalk Hospital. Anne was born on October 5, 1926, in Brooklyn, NY to the late Edward A. and Elsie (Keiser) Conroy. She attended Queens College, where she majored in Romance Languages. Anne is also a graduate of the Harvard-Radcliffe Business Administration program. She was the Director of Personnel at Queens College for many years up until her retirement in 1990. She was previously the Assistant Director of Personnel for the New York Public Library, and the Director of Supervisory Selection and Development at Bonwit Teller. Anne was an active member of St. Aloysius Church in New Canaan, participating in multiple Bible Studies. She especially loved attending St. Aloysius' choral concerts. Anne volunteered at the Waveny Care Center for many years reading to the residents. Anne is survived by a nephew, John E. Conroy and his wife Stephanie of Davis, IL, and their children, Natalie, Stephen, Elizabeth and Michael; a niece, Anastasia (Conroy) Connolly and her husband Tom of Darien, CT and their children, Alaine and Aidan. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Dr. Edward A. Conroy, Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 12:00pm at St. Aloysius Church, 23 Cherry Street, New Canaan, CT. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends and family may call prior to the Mass on Friday from 10:00am – 11:30am at Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St., New Canaan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
