Obituary of Augusta Reinertsen
Mrs Augusta C. Reinertsen passed quietly in her sleep during the early hours of the 8th of March 2010 in New Canaan, Connecticut from natural causes. Born on the 23rd of December 1920 in the City of New York’s borough of Brooklyn, she was the only daughter of Edwin J. and Augusta Cram (née Krumme).
Married to the late, Arne R. Reinertsen (b.1919; d.1985), she is survived by their sons Ralph R. Reinertsen and Andrew J. Reinertsen. A first son, Edwin C. Reinertsen, passed away in 1955 from a childhood illness.
The family moved to New Canaan in 1965 where she began a life of service at St Michael’s Lutheran Church on God’s Acre to her God, family and community.
A world traveler and spirited bridge player, she brought a light and wise spirit to any gathering.
In loving memory, she shall be missed by those who knew her as well as her sons; Andrew's wife, Desirée and her grandchildren: Ralph's son, Kristian, and Andrew's children, Alex and Matthew.
The family will receive friends at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, the 11th of March 2010. A funeral service will be held at St Michael’s Lutheran Church on God’s Acre Friday, March 12, 2009 at 11:00 AM followed by interment beside her husband at Lakeview Cemetery.
