Obituary of Colleen McMahon-Passero

Colleen M. McMahon-Passero, age 59, of Wilton, CT formerly of New Canaan passed away suddenly on Sunday afternoon February 28, 2016 at Norwalk Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Yonkers, NY on September 8, 1956 she was the daughter of John F. McMahon of Courtland Manor, NY and the late Ruth Baran McMahon. Colleen attended Saint Mary’s Elementary School and Commerce High School in Yonkers, NY. She had a successful career as a VP of Lillian Vernon and retired to devote her time to what mattered most to her, her husband and children. Colleen was happiest when helping others, and put the needs of her friends and family above all else. Colleen was a dedicated wife and compassionate mother; survived by her loving husband Dr. Marino Passero, son Rick Passero, and daughter Nicole Passero. One of five siblings, Colleen was predeceased by her brothers, Dennis and John and survived by her sisters, Doreen Chiulli, Kathleen Knuth, Tara Reuter, and brothers-in-law, Anthony Chiulli, Steven Liptak, and Joe Reuter. She is also survived by her father’s wife, Sharon McMahon. Her 6 nephews, and 11 great nieces and nephews filled her heart with happiness. She touched many lives, especially Dawn Teczar and her two children Alexander Brooker and Bella Schwartz. Colleen made a lasting impression on everyone she met and will forever be remembered for her selflessness, vibrant personality and generosity. The family invites friends to join them in celebrating Colleen’s life at Hoyt Funeral Home on 199 Main Street in New Canaan this Thursday from 9 am-11am, followed by mass at St. Aloysius Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
